It's a movie, and Cruise is an actor, for Pete-sake. I personally like Cruise as an actor -- and that million dollar smile still works for me. So far, this is the only movie going that interests me, so I will probably go and see it.
Pat Browning Pat Browninghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09827344209588183175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-499247432649483938.post-46494627020032703962013-01-05T13:43:10.306-05:002013-01-05T13:43:10.306-05:00As one of the folks who has read and enjoyed every...As one of the folks who has read and enjoyed every Lee Child book, what is laughable is that Tom Cruise was selected to be Jack Reacher. I figured out early on that besides that the movie had very little in common with the actual books. Much like what NBC pulled when they bought the PRIME SUSPECT concept and then used only the title in the series.

If one realizes the movie has nothing at all to do with the books, the movie should be fine.Kevin R. Go back through cinema history and look at all the "bad casting" choices that turned out to be perfectly fine. Dustin Hoffman (another short actor who used to get a lot of flack for his height) is nothing like the protagonist of THE GRADUATE in the novel, for example. Cruise mostly does well in action movies, but I hope he hangs it up before he turns 60. He is in danger of becoming a parody of himself like Schwarzenegger and Stallone who both think they are forever 35.J F Norrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06473487417479127354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-499247432649483938.post-88180259242742931272013-01-02T23:01:42.587-05:002013-01-02T23:01:42.587-05:00I do feel that, at her finest, Agatha Christie cou...I do feel that, at her finest, Agatha Christie could be a truly compelling author.
