Oh, the fellow is useless...

But I love Boucher, even if my experience with him has so far been limited to the Sherlock Holmes radio plays. You know, the kind of people who frequent libraries in search of information.

But to come back to Too Many Ghosts, I ventured a bit further into the book, but not as far as I would like, which I blame entirely on my social obligations to society.

Our "friend" Nigel is also bugging me that the book should be filmed as a musical and star Michael Jackson as Alexander Hero (reminiscent to his video clips Thriller and Ghosts, but than a lot longer), and when I told him that Michael Jackson died a few years ago he become even more enthusiastic, "'Cause who wouldn’t want to see a singing, dancing zombie exorcising old British country houses? It will appeal to different demographics! A guaranteed box office hit, my friend!"

I hate Nigel! :/TomCathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03415176301265218101noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-499247432649483938.post-67101703138633026402011-04-04T15:17:44.276-04:002011-04-04T15:17:44.276-04:00Well, to get the Boucher book, I'd have to spe...Well, to get the Boucher book, I'd have to spend $40 to be able to spend countless more... Not to mention that Schief would be a perfect addition to your other reviews of post-GAD era authors. ;D

And I don't try to thumb too often through the Boucher book; it gives me the itch, if you know what I mean.TomCathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03415176301265218101noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-499247432649483938.post-16628332950529107892011-04-04T08:27:36.446-04:002011-04-04T08:27:36.446-04:00It's something that I suppose was somehow lost...It's something that I suppose was somehow lost in the sands of time- rather like The Anagram Detectives, which I discovered by looking through the bibliography in Doug Greene's biography of Carr- it included the many parodies. Prior to that, I'd never heard of Schier, "Hocus Pocus at the Drumis Tree", or that it was printed in something other than EQMM.

Ah, those lost gems... such a wonderful feeling when you find them...

Of course, you're cheating. You have The Anthony Boucher Chronicles at your disposal. It isn't even available for ILL here...

I will keep an eye out for your review. I can understand the critics, but even the locked room enthusiasts? I guess you really stumbled across a forgotten book that would be perfect for Fridays. ;D

Anyway, expect a review up on my blog when I’ve finished the book.TomCathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03415176301265218101noreply@blogger.com
